Brazilian level 4
Course information
Brazilian level 4 is intended for students with a good basic knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese. To take this course you should already be able to read and write short texts about a person or subject that you are familiar with.
Upon completion of Brazilian level 4 you will be able to talk about events using the past tense, whether about something you have experienced personally or heard about or about something that happened in the past (history). You will be able to tell something about your health, for example to a doctor (estou doente, estou com dor de cabeça), using typical Brazilian Portuguese expressions and sentence structures.
Aspects of grammar that are covered include comparisons (for example with mais and menos), comparatives and superlatives and the difference between saber and conhecer (to know).
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interviewAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Brazilian level 3 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
