Dutch Proficiency 2
Course information
The Dutch Proficiency 2 course is suitable for students with a high level of proficiency in Dutch who wish to get to grips with the finer points of the language. After this course, your Dutch proficiency will be virtually faultless. For example, you will have no difficulty reading a novel or watching a play at the theatre.
Dutch Proficiency 2 is the right course for you if your Dutch is already at a high level. This means, for example, that you can already speak about a range of subjects, in informal, formal and business situations. You can also express your opinion in a persuasive text or report and have no problems writing a letter of complaint, set of instructions or essay.
After this course, your Dutch will be almost perfect. You will be able to read letters, emails, novels, articles and columns with ease. You will also have no difficulty reading business correspondence and will be able to respond effectively, for example by writing a report or a persuasive text. You will be able to speak effortlessly about a range of subjects, at a presentation or meeting, for example. If you are interrupted, you will easily be able to resume the conversation and pick up the thread.
The grammar covered during the course will include passive sentences (het boek is door hem geschreven), modal particles (a type of stop word, such as eens, maar, misschien and toch), separable verbs (opruimen – ik ruim op) and non-separable verbs (overtuigen, ontdekken) and the use of zullen and zouden.
