English Advanced 2
Course information
English Advanced 2 is intended for students with an advanced knowledge of English. For example, you should possess a broad, active vocabulary (academic, professional and private) and be familiar with complex grammar.
The course focuses on reading and listening, but primarily on expanding your vocabulary and on active speaking and writing (including making proposals and stating your opinion). This could be in a presentation, a debate, or in writing a job-application letter or promotional material. In the process, you will learn to use persuasive language (highly trained, core values etc.) to reinforce your argumentation.
By the end of English Advanced 2, you will be able to get along in a variety of situations, even if you are not prepared or if you are talking about an unfamiliar topic, and you will be able to suit your language to the situation (formal and informal).
The grammar addressed during this course is highly advanced. You will learn to use cleft sentences (what bores me is, the main thing is), ellipsis and substitution to make a text more legible.
