French level 6
Course information
The French level 6 course is taught at intermediate level. This means that you need to have mastered the basics of French to be able to take this course. For example, you are able to understand most French TV programmes if people speak clearly. You are able to talk or write about something that has happened or is happening now, and about your plans for the future.
During the course, you will develop the language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening in French. Grammar and vocabulary are also part of the course.
The subjects covered in the French level 6 course generally concern the world around us: social responsibility, media and news, the environment, social inequality and human rights. After completing French level 6, you will be able to talk and write about these topics. For example, you are able to give your opinion about climate issues and tell someone about a TV programme you have seen.
In French level 6, you learn grammatical constructions that indicate a purpose or goal (pour que and afin que), certainty (je suis sûr(e) que), doubt (je doute que), wish (je souhaite que) or necessity (il faut que) and constructions that indicate worry or fear (for example je crains que and j’ai peur que).
