Italian Fluency B2

Have you completed Italian level 8 at UvA Talen, and would you like to develop your Italian language skills? Or have you already studied Italian at B2 level in the past? Then Italian Fluency B2 is the right course for you. By working on your communication skills in Italian, this course will give you more self-confidence when speaking and listening at B2 level.

Improve your Italian language skills

Your Italian needs to be at level 8 to participate in this course. No new grammar topics will be covered at this level. The book’s task-oriented approach will help you to improve your speaking skills, allowing you to communicate with greater confidence.

A variety of aspects of everyday life are covered, including practising expressing opinions, feelings and desires, and formulating hypotheses. A wide variety of topics are discussed, such as technology, the environment, Italian cuisine, sport, travel and historical figures. All of these topics were covered previously in the B2 course. You will read articles about the country’s history, culture and social aspects, among other things. You will practise writing about traditions, new customs, and contemporary digital culture. You will also take part in discussions on topics such as books, films and travel. You will listen to podcasts and radio programmes, paying particular attention to the specific sounds, intonation and accents of the Italian language.

In terms of Italian grammar, the course covers advanced skills such as chronologically combining different tenses in long, structured sentences, and the hypothetical forms that can be used to discuss possible and impossible situations. You will also practise using the subjunctive and the gerund (congiuntivo presente, passato, imperfetto) when expressing opinions, hypotheses and personal taste.

At the end of this course, you will have deepened and reinforced the knowledge that you acquired in the B2 course, and you will be able to communicate more confidently in Italian.
