Course information
Italian level 8 is an advanced course. This course is suitable for those who can speak Italian fluently and with ease, who can write various types of text and who have an extensive passive knowledge of Italian.
During Italian level 8 you will further expand your Italian skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
After this course, you will be able to speak easily and freely, even on difficult topics. You will find it easy to take part in discussions and debates, giving your opinion spontaneously and without prior preparation, responding to the points raised by your interlocutor. Your vocabulary will continue to expand. You can use metaphors and synonyms with ease, in written texts and conversations.
After this course your passive language skills (listening and reading) are very extensive, you can read Italian literature with ease. You listening skills enable you to understand conferences, speeches and academic presentations. You understand almost everything you see on the television or hear on the radio.
Grammar covered during the course will include the use of the congiuntivo (subjunctive) and speaking about the future using the futuro semplice and futuro anteriore. You will also learn more ways to use the gerundio, participio, infinito and imperativo and attention will be paid to the various meanings of the word mica.
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interviewAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Italian level 7 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
