Japanese level 3
Course information
The course Japanese level 3 is intended for students who have elementary knowledge of the Japanese language. You should already have mastered Hiragana, Katakana and basic grammar, and be able to express yourself using simple Japanese.
At the end of the course, you will be able to read and understand passages on familiar daily topics written in basic vocabulary. You will also be able to listen to and comprehend short conversations spoken slowly about topics regularly encountered in daily life and classroom situations, and form a suitable response.
After successfully completing this course, you will know approximately 850 Japanese words as well as different forms of verbs and adjectives, which will enable you to start producing more complex sentences. You can learn 100 Kanji characters through self-study. Your teacher will be happy to provide you with the information needed to support your efforts.
The end level of this course is equivalent to three quarter of level N5 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interviewAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Japanese level 2 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
