Japanese level 6

Course information

Japanese level 6 is intended for students with an intermediate knowledge of the Japanese language. You should already be able to conduct short conversations on everyday topics such as your plans for the weekend or something you have experienced.

After this course you will know how to speak politely about negative situations, for example by expressing regret or disappointment or offering an apology. You will also be able to clearly convey simple information, give instructions and retell a story you have heard.

During Japanese Level 6 you will learn around 150 new words, so by the end of the course you will know around 950 Japanese words. You can learn 50 new Kanji characters (250 in total) through self-study. Your teacher will be happy to provide you with the information needed to support your efforts

You will learn more about different verb forms that change according to who you are speaking to and who you are talking about (かしてあげる、かしてくれる、かしてもらう). You will also learn how to use conditional sentences (天気がよかったら、さんぽします) and you will learn more about the use of auxiliary verbs (食べてみる、買っておく).

The final level of this course is equal to half of Level N4 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

The course material is written in English, so a basic understanding of English is needed.

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate showing the level you have attained and you will be able to continue to Japanese level 7.
