Course information
The Japanese level 9 course is intended for students with an advanced knowledge of the Japanese language. To take this course, you should be able to express expectations and to compare things with each other. You are familiar with all forms of courtesies and know when and how to use them.
In Japanese level 9 you will learn to follow the general meaning of dialogues spoken at normal speed, in a range of speaking styles. You will gain insight into various situations in which Japanese people use a certain style of speaking.
By the end of this course you will be able to write a text on a specific topic, using the grammar learnt in the course. You will be able to ask friends and teachers questions on a range of topics, using supportive expressions. You will be able to call friends at home and speak to their family members. You can learn 100 new Kanji characters (430 in total) through self-study. Your teacher will be happy to provide you with the information needed to support your efforts.
Grammar learnt during Japanese level 9 includes the verb ことが/も ある, the passive form 見られる, the suffix さ and the if/when construction 場合は / に.
The end level of this course is equal to one quarter of level N3 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
