Korean beginners
Course information
The Korean Beginners course is designed for absolute beginners who want to start learning the Korean language. The course covers the basic grammar and vocabulary you will need to develop your language proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
By the end of the course you will be able to read and understand typical expressions written in the Korean alphabet. You will also be able to extract important information from short conversations spoken slowly, and to understand this information and formulate a suitable answer.
During Korean Beginners you will learn around 180 words based on Hangul, the Korean alphabet made up of 24 basic letters: 14 consonants and 10 vowels. You will also learn how to greet people and how to describe simple situations in simple sentences using the present tense and the past tense. These simple sentences form the basis for making compound sentences with which you can express yourself more freely in Korean.
The end level of this course is equal to one quarter of Level N5 of the Korean Language Ability Test (KLAT).
