Portuguese level 3
Course information
Portuguese level 3 is intended for students with an intermediate knowledge of the Portuguese language. To take this course you should already be able to hold brief conversations about yourself and your immediate surroundings. You can also talk or write about something in the present tense and the past tense (pretérito perfeito).
Upon completion of Portuguese level 3 you will be able to read and comprehend online blog articles and news items, provided they are about a familiar subject. You will be able to tell a story that you have heard to someone else using the discurso direto and indireto. When talking or writing about something, you will be able to back up your story using arguments and comparisons.
Grammar covered in the course includes the imperfeito, in which you can refer to an action that preceded another action. You will also learn the future tense, the conditional and the past perfect (pluperfect) tense.
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interviewAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Portuguese level 2 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
