Who is it for?

This general language training course is designed for those students who have advanced knowledge of the Russian language.

What will you learn?

During this course, you will increasingly expand your active language skills. The primary aim of this course is to develop your Russian proficiency, building on your existing knowledge, so that you can express ideas and viewpoints in Russian with reasonable confidence and accuracy, both orally and in writing.

After this course you will have expanded your vocabulary with regard to getting to know someone and clothing, so you can, for example, conduct a conversation on someone’s biography or taste in clothes. You will be able to perform complex communicative tasks: expressing and defending your opinion, discussing various topics and backing up your views, and taking part in discussions based on a themed vocabulary that was studied earlier and is now being revisited. You will also have developed the skill to understand the meaning of new words based on the context and your knowledge of how words are formed in Russian.

And grammar?

The grammar you learn during this course includes:

  • the particular use of collective numerals (двое, трое, etc.) and the associated noun
  • converting direct speech into indirect speech
  • using the aspect forms of the imperative
If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate showing the level you have attained and you will be able to continue to Russian level 11.
