Russian level 3
Course information
In the Russian level 3 course, you will expand your basic Russian skills. After this course you will, among other things, be able to:
- understand long sentences that contain mainly familiar and international words
- answer written questions about yourself
- find essential information in texts on topics covered in class
Who is it for?
The Russian level 3 course is the right course for you if you already have some knowledge of Russian. For example, you are already familiar with the Cyrillic script, you know the Russian alphabet, you can use adjectives and adverbs correctly and you know how to use modal auxiliary verbs.
What will you learn?
During Russian level 3, you will improve your Russian reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Grammar and vocabulary are an important part of the course.
After this course you will be able to distinguish important information while listening, based on text and pictures and you will learn to write little stories and essays based on photos, maps, diagrams and pictures. On holiday you will be able to conduct a conversation with a hotel receptionist to book a room or make a complaint, you can talk about the country you come from or where you live and talk about your favourite holiday.
And grammar?
The grammar you learn during this course includes:
- the particular use of reflexive verbs
- using the possessive construction
- recognising and using comparative adjectives
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interview, questionnaireAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Russian level 2 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
