Russian level 6
Course information
Upon completing the Russian level 6 course, you will have a thorough and complete knowledge of basic Russian. After this course you will, among other things, be able to:
- understand the core meaning of an audio text and extract relevant information
- write extensive sentences on topics covered in class
- prepare an oral presentation in which you tell about an experience or point of view
Who is it for?
Russian level 6 is intended for students with a reasonable knowledge of the Russian language. During this course, you will further expand your active language skills.
What will you learn?
The overall aim of the course is to improve your proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing in Russian.
After this course you will have expanded your vocabulary with regard to shopping, clothes, food and health and you will have learned how to write short, friendly emails. You will also be able to take part in a discussion and present and defend your opinion. You can discuss various topics and back up your views.
And grammar?
The grammar you learn during this course includes:
- distinguishing between some tricky usages of verbs in the same semantic group (болеть)
- using transitive verbs of movement (нести – носить, везти – возить, вести –водить)
- knowing and using nouns in the genitive plural
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interview, questionnaireAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Russian level 5 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
