Spanish level 5
Course information
The course Spanish level 5 is intended for students with a fair knowledge of Spanish. You should have attained level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This means that you have already mastered the basic and more complex grammar (including passive sentences and sub-clauses) and that you are able to discuss a wide range of familiar topics.
During Spanish level 5 you will further expand your proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Grammar and vocabulary will play an essential role in this.
On completion of this course you will be able to conduct proactive conversations on a wide range of topics. You will be able to advise (deberías buscar otro trabajo), describe personalities (es tranquila pero cuando tiene mucho trabajo ...), describe feelings (lo que no me gusta nada es ...), talk about the past (antes tomaba café) and to talk about your health (soy nervioso, estoy deprimido).
During this course the teacher will first review the key level A2 grammar skills. More complex aspects of the Spanish language will then be covered, such as subjuntivo and indicativo (es conveniente hacer deporte and es conveniente que hagas deporte), modal auxiliary verbs (dejo de fumar, vuelvo a trabajar, sigo viviendo) and sub-clauses using where, in which, so that and until (trabajo en una empresa donde la técnica es …).
