In the Chinese level 9 course, you will improve your Chinese at intermediate level. After this course you will, among other things, be able to:
- shop comfortably at Chinese shops, including webshops
- talk about your lifestyle and health in a vlog
- use 200 new Chinese words
Who is it for?
This is the course for you if you already have a relatively high level of proficiency in Chinese. For example, you can speak about subjects you are familiar with in spontaneous, fluent Chinese. You will know approximately 800 Chinese words. If you recently passed level 3 of the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test, this is the course for you.
What will you learn?
During the Chinese level 9 course, you improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills on the topics of shopping, art, health, life and emotions.
After completing the course, you will be able to shop comfortably in China. Among other things, you will be able to:
- understand when a salesperson explains aspects of a product to you
- negotiate a price
- read or even write product texts in a Chinese webshop
Besides shopping, life in general features prominently in this course. We teach you to talk about your health and lifestyle, in a vlog, for example. You also learn to speak and write about emotions such as frustration or happiness. These skills could be useful in a blog or in conversation with a friend who is going through a rough patch.
During this Chinese language course too, we prepare you for the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test. You will do HSK Chinese Proficiency Test level 4 practice tests, for example, in preparation of the intake and the final test.
And grammar?
The grammar you learn during this course includes:
- structures denoting conditions and comparisons, such as 在…下 (in case), 比…多/少…倍 (more/less than) and 既…又/也/还 (additionally)
- conjunctions such as 只要 (until) and 比如 (for example)
- words that denote emphasis, such as 往往 (usually), 因此 (consequently) and 确实 (actually)
End level
The end level of Chinese level 9 is equivalent to half of level 4 of the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test (1000 words). This level is comparable to level B2.1 of the European Framework of Reference.
