Summer courses: learn a new language through distance learning!
This summer, UvA Talen is offering intensive courses as well as evening courses in 12 different languages via distance learning. Maybe you’re looking to master the basics of Spanish, French or Italian during your holiday? To improve your English or Dutch for a boost in your workplace or studies? Or make a start on a fascinating language you’ve wanted to learn for a long time, such as Russian, Japanese, Chinese or Arabic? Then this is your chance!
An intensive course at UvA Talen takes two, three or four weeks, depending on the language you want to learn. And now for the first time, we are also offering our complete evening programme over the summer. The evening courses take place once or twice a week and last for ten weeks. All of the courses allow you to learn a new language in a fast and fun way while leaving time to enjoy the summer sunshine.
Interactive online summer courses in Dutch and English
UvA Talen offers intensive daytime courses in Dutch and English all year round. During the summer, the courses follow the successful formula used during the rest of the year: five lessons a week from Monday to Friday. The only difference this year is that the lessons take place in our online virtual classroom. During these intensive courses, your language proficiency will rise up to two levels on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese and Swedish summer courses via distance learning
All our Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese and Swedish intensive courses consist of nine three-hour lessons spread over three weeks. This means you receive two extra hours of lessons compared to the regular evening courses for the same price. During these online crash courses your language proficiency will rise up to half a level on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Arabic, Russian, Chinese and Japanese summer courses in our interactive online classroom
The intensive courses in Arabic, Russian, Chinese and Japanese also take place three times a week, but consist of ten two-and-a-half-hour lessons. This gives you plenty of time after each lesson to do your homework and to digest what you have learnt – time that you are sure to need!
