Tailor-made English courses for Italian students at Giocamondo Study!

This summer, UvA Talen provided tailor-made English courses to Italian teenagers and young adults that took part in the Giocamondo Study programme. Giocamondo Study is a travel agency that specialises in organising study tours both in Italy and abroad for children, adolescents and seniors. Their two-week programme this year in Amsterdam hosted students between the ages of 14 and 19 years old.

Giocamondo Study’s mission is to help students reach their full potential by enabling them to learn a language abroad and fully immerse themselves in beautiful places alongside fellow students. We are very happy to be a part of such a great programme where we can support this mission by offering creative English lessons around the B1 and B2 level. Our personalised course team worked hard to create a smooth course schedule for the 280 Italian students, split into 18 groups. We created an arrangement of 3-hour learning slots each day, giving our wonderful teachers the opportunity to get creative and make the course material interesting and fun - often filled with song lyrics, themes or interesting conversation starters.

At the end of their English programme, the students, teachers and UvA Talen staff gathered for a short ceremony in which each student received a certificate of course completion. We are all very pleased with the result of a successful programme!

More about Giocamondo Study

Giocamondo Study is an agency offering study trips for youths and seniors throughout Italy and abroad. Their organisation, having recently celebrated their 20th anniversary, was created following an earthquake that tragically hit their region. Shortly thereafter, they made scholarships available to children between the ages of 7 and 19 to be used for learning trips through Italy and beyond! Since then, Giocamondo Study is accredited as a training institution by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.

This is Giocamondo Study’s second year collaborating with UvA Talen, sending anywhere between 150 – 280 students to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We hope to continue teaching English to these wonderful groups in the years to come!

Personalised courses at UvA Talen

UvA Talen provides a wide range of targeted training programmes that are fully tailored to the specific wishes of clients with diverse backgrounds and needs. Most of our programmes focus on improving general language skills for individuals, but we also provide training for companies in particular sectors or fields, presentation skills training, workshops, targeted individual training, and training for internationally recognised exams.

Our private courses and business training are available both online and on location. ‘On location’ means at our office in the heart of Amsterdam, at the client’s office, or at another location of your choice. We don’t offer at-home tuition, but everything else is possible. We also offer an inTense programme in which we provide high-intensity training programmes for five whole days. During the training, you are fully immersed in the language you wish to learn. The immersion starts in the morning when you first meet your teacher, and continues without interruption until the end of each training day.
